First of all, the decisions and choices you make.
Each mission can be completed in all sorts of ways. And what you do in each mission, greatly affects the people in the game world, and the various stories. In all this, the game is much like Deus Ex. For in DE games as well, missions can be handled in all sorts of ways for all sorts of outcomes.
Then, the skill trees. Plenty of skills to choose from, and they actually have a use in the game world. So, with all the skills and perks, you can build yourself just the kind of hero, or anti-hero, you want.
That is what makes The Outer Worlds such a great RPG. For in most RPGs like this, such as Mass Effect, you just go thru the same path no matter what 'class' your hero is.
The game also has great stories, side missions and genuinely interesting companions. No romancing tho, but you do develop firm relationships with your crew along the way.
Visuals? Well, I really like the unique style of them. Below some pics from the first planet. Took them with my camera, so they're not all that great but I hope they give you some idea of the visual style.
Gameplay is really solid too with combat working real well. Hacking, lockpicking and all that is of course there.
Only downside is tha the game is bit short. There are only handful of places you get to visit before its the end game missions. But the places and missions are very memorable for all that, and that makes this game so precious to me, and fun to replay. One of the best scifi RPGs I've ever played.
Oh, and I hope such game discussions are allowed here. I mean this is a gaming forum, right?
